Re: Rectal manometry test - any reason to do one?

I don't know of a single PNE doctor who requires the results from this in order to treat you. Hope this helps!

Re: Tramadol for PN causing anxiety?

Read this post and see if a medication change might be in order for you. The drug mentioned is one that is sometimes given to performers in a low dose to combat the anxiety of stage fright. The side effects don't sound like a problem so maybe it is something to bring up with your doctor. http://www....

Re: Proposed Facebook Memorial for PN suicides

I feel like those families and friends can create their own memorials as they see fit (or not). I think it's kind of weird and borderline wrong for somebody who didn't even know them, to want to create this. I think there is quite enough PN "awareness" activity going on without contacting ...

Re: Pregnant with PN

Fifteen weeks? Your window of opportunity for a surgical D&C abortion passed at 12 weeks when the uterus was still hard and able to be scraped. Now it is larger and too soft for that to be safe for you. If you terminate it will have to be a procedure more like what you go through giving birth. I...

Re: New PNer

I live in the Metro NY area. thanks for the tips, Bobby! I will try them! Do I ask my Neurologist for a PT referral or my primary care doc (sorry to be so dense). You want to see Amy Stein, then. I don't know if she needs a referral so you might call her office and see what they require so you'll h...

Re: New and looking for help/advice

VP, I am so sorry about your pregnancy loss. I think some of your symptoms sound like they might resolve with pelvic floor physical therapy, maybe even some core strengthening to help see if that will affect your back pain. In the meantime for the anxiety, see if someone can give you even a low dose...
