Re: Loss sensation to urinate

Hove31, What parts of your spine were imaged? Did the doctors include your pelvis/sacrum? Also, I have found that different doctor see different things as important on MRIs. Do you know a knowledgeable doctor who may be able to look at your images and give you a second opinion? I am sorry you are go...

Re: Possible PGAD and needing support!!

Ayanna28, I am so sorry for all you have been through. I agree with Violet’s suggestion for an evaluation with a pelvic PT. Perhaps there is a muscular issue putting pressure on the PN and causing your PGAD or you have SI joint dysfunction. I also think for PGAD that an MRI of the pelvis is a good i...

Re: my PT rectal

Marky, From what I have gathered from PTs, relief should be significant in the first three months of therapy. I also think an MRI of the pelvis is a good idea to rule in/out other conditions and also to look at sacrum, the lowest part of the spine, especially the sacral nerve roots. Some end up find...

Re: my PT rectal

Marky,

In my experience, PN can cause the pain you describe. I suppose it could also be muscular. If your pain is primarily muscular, I think you will see at least some improvement through the PT within a few weeks.

Re: Seat for car

Lisa,

Maybe a pelvic PT could help you? Mine offered to help with a custom cushion a few years ago but I didn’t have one made.

Re: UTI causing PN?

SummerChild, I think if you can find a knowledgable doctor willing to look I’ve your imaging it would be a good idea to get a second opinion. I have found that different doctors see different things as important and sometimes radiologists consider some potential issues to be “incidental findings” an...

Re: Florida Doctors

Mike, While not a physician, Tracy Sher is a PT in the Orlando area who is an expert in PN with decades of experience. If I lived in Florida, she would be my first appointment. In fact, I had a Telehealth visit with her years ago to discuss my issues. She or one of her colleagues may be able to exam...

Re: mrn claustrophobia

Happyman, I have found with imaging that wearing mirrored glasses really helps. When you are lying on the table the mirrors on the glasses reflect behind you which is the open space of the room and it really does a great job tricking your brain. You could ask if your imaging place has them. If not, ...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder

I had the same experience as Violet with internal PT and using the wand. Both caused increased pain for me.

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder

Holly,

I think cryoneurolysis is the same as cryoablation. I tried this for the PN about 8 years ago and it was unsuccessful and caused a huge pain flare for me. I haven’t really heard of anyone who improved from this procedure, unfortunately.
