Re: 3Tesla MRi with standard protocol and PUDENDAL N. diagno

Thought the Pudendal was formed from S1-S3, and not L5...though pain, when wound up, might generalize and make it hard to determine exact origin. If not already, recommend you get familiar with the PN Nantes criteria...and agree with Violet before consider something invasive like surgery. 3T was val...

Re: B6

10-4. If you are concerned, reco you seek a B6 serum test to see if you are B6 deficient.

I was taking a common B complex and a daily vitamin. Not even taking a separate B6, yet my serum reading went sky-high.

Re: B6

Be careful with B6, as it can be neurotoxic at elevated levels (easy to research on the Internet). I started taking a B6 supplement when I was diagnosed with PNE. A year later I started to develop tingling in both feet, as well as a frequent sensation of "vibrations on floor" while standin...

Re: failed nerve blocks

Hi April and all, I can only share thoughts based on my experience. And am sure outcome depends on degree of entrapment and other factors. Dr. Jan Fritz (Johns Hopkins) studied under Dr Hollis Potter (HSS) and is Pudendal-smart. He is able to place the steroid with extreme precision - even between s...

Re: Questions about PN blocks

Good morning,

You will feel numb along the distribution of the nerve, but will have no incontinence.

A flare is possible (most anything is possible) but very unlikely.

Best to make sure it is performed by a practiced professional.

Re: Standing desk increases my symptoms

Hello, I can only relate my experience, so I would take it in context of others... I too had pain from prolonged standing. Then, the day after TG surgery any link to standing pain was gone. In my case my scarred STL had adhered to my R pudendal nerve (from heavy cycling). Once it was disconnected (b...

Re: Testing in the DC, MD, VA area

Hi Carol, I was diagnosed first in Houston and then migrated to Drs Hibner/Castellanos at St Joseph's in Phoenix. I am partial to them. I have a preference for doctors and treatment at university hospitals, as they are paid as staff employees and not by the procedure (reduced conflict of interest IM...

Re: Testing in the DC, MD, VA area

Carol, I am from the DC area, and have gone the whole 9 yards with PNE. Dr Marvel is in Maryland. Recommend you look at the Diagnosis and other parts of this website to get informed on the process, symptoms, and also for a look at the list of doctors. Can you share what you are experiencing? There a...
