Hi Samson,
Yes, as Violet said, there is life after (and even with) pn. I still have pn pain, but it is now low enough for me to manage. I work full-time in a busy job and have a happy life.
Take care,
April

Re: Has anyone had this happen during recovery
Hi Sight,
Yes, I had the same experience as Violet. It took a long time to see the full benefits of surgery. Nerves can take a very long time (years) to recover.
Take care,
April

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder
Hi Holly, I'm just now seeing your earlier question about whether or not I have ongoing pain. I do, but it is much less frequent and less extreme than before the surgery. I have flares periodically and can usually manage them with a heating pad on high. But, I did just start a medication for the fir...

Re: Hello, new here
Hi Capricorn, Yes, most pn patients use a cushion. Oh, yes, that sounds frustrating--so sorry. My pt did a little acupuncture but it didn't seem to make a difference on me, but I think it is important to try a lot of different treatments, especially when they don't have side effects like acupuncture...

I'm so sorry it didn't work, Bart. Has anything else seemed to work?

Re: Is PN always one sided?
Hi SweetMama, It is unusual to have entrapment on both sides, but one-sided entrapment creates pain on both sides. The side with the entrapment may get sharp or stabbing pain but send burning pain throughout the pelvic floor. But pn pain can very often be caused by things other than entrapment, so i...

Re: Can steroid injection to S2-S4 help PN
Hi SweetMama, So sorry to hear of your recent pn symptoms. I haven't heard of that treatment before. The closest thing I can think of is a pudendal block, which directs both a numbing agent (for diagnostic purposes) and steroid (for treatment) on the pudendal nerve (not on the source of the nerve at...

Hi Balenul,
My pain does not increase when I sit. In fact, Hibner thought that my for people with a small pelvis like mine sitting might open up the area a bit, making it less painful.

Re: Was surgery the right choice for you?
Hi Optimus, It would be unlikely, but I don't think there is anything quite that absolute in this area of medicine. There are definitely people in the reverse situation---those who have pne but don't meet all the criteria. For example, I believe I had (and may still have some) entrapment, but I can ...

Re: Undiagnosed condition for 3 years (obturator nerve?)
Hi Chamois, I'm so sorry that your January surgery didn't help. I don't know what's involved with a parietal pubalgia surgery, but (as you've probably read on the forum), I do know nerves take a long time to heal. So if this surgery was designed to help repair a nerve, it may be too soon to conclude...
