Re: Has anyone had this happen during recovery

I can't blame you for being pessimistic. I was scared after surgery. It is not unusual for months 3 and 4 to be the worst part of recovery as the nerve is waking up. So please hang in there and don't give up hope completely. You've had this for 7 years so it's not going to go away quickly. I wasn't ...

You could potentially try a dorsal clitoral nerve block for diagnostic purposes if that is the only place you are having pain. It is one of the branches of the pudendal nerve.

Re: I think I have PN

If you have clothing that rubs in the wrong place it can cause friction when walking and increase your pain. Some people with PN have to wear really loose clothing, especially around the panty line. But I had pain when walking no matter what I was wearing so sometimes it's just the friction of the n...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder

Good idea to get a second opinion. I could be way off base, and I hope I am, but I am coming from the experience of having my gyn tell me not to have a pelvic floor repair because it could increase my PN pain if the pelvic floor was pulled too tightly. I'm not sure what the treatment would be but I'...

Re: Is PN always one sided?

Pelvic floor PT aggravated my pain before PNE surgery too. I decided to stop doing it because I couldn't see the point in aggravating an already irritated nerve. It depends on the PT as to whether they will give you a diagnosis. Mine diagnosed me when the local doctors had no clue. She pressed on th...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder

SweetMama, If you have formed scar tissue after a hysterectomy, it could potentially cause entrapments on both sides. I'm not saying that's for sure what has happened but theoretically, it is possible. Or if the pelvic floor was pulled tight on both sides it could theoretically cause a stretch of th...

Re: Has anyone had this happen during recovery

What surgical approach did you have done? Have you asked the surgeon the mechanism for how these symptoms could have gotten worse? I remember I had some reduced sensation after surgery - I guess you could call it numbness, but not as pronounced as what you are describing. It slowly improved over tim...

Re: Abroad PT help

Some of the PT's have websites where you can contact them to find out what type of therapy they do, and some of them have emails that you could contact them to find out.

Re: I think I have PN

You can have symptoms on both sides with pudendal neuralgia. For instance, if someone had PN due to lyme disease, the symptoms would be on both sides. If the neuralgia is due to entrapment, it's more likely to be worse on one side, but it is possible to have an entrapment on both sides, although not...

Worse on one side but over time it spread to the entire pelvis. Bautrant released entrapments on both sides.
