Re: Marijuana!!

Hi Grammy, I'm a registered MA Medical Marijuana patient and have found this very helpful with pain management. Currently, I take a few puffs in the evening with a pipe, but am looking into other delivery methods - there are MANY besides smoking or vaping it. I've previously tried topicals, but have...

Re: 3t-mrn and lumbo-sacral-mrn.

Hi MLL,

You can view examples of others people's 3-T MRI/MRN's to see what types of things are noted.

Go to:
Board Index
Select topic: MRI/MRN
Select PAGE 7, and then work your way back.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Karyn

Re: Why does laying down in bed on your back worsen symptoms

BTW, DG -
In response to your original post - yes! My symptoms are severely aggravated from lying on my back. To answer your question as to why:

Very simply put, you're adding direct pressure/compression to the sacral nerves, which causes increased pain and dysfunction.

Re: Why does laying down in bed on your back worsen symptoms

DG,
I also have an HMO (BC/BS). They originally denied coverage for the surgery, but eventually authorized and covered it through appeal. Dr. F's staff is very helpful with appeals and providing letters of medical necessity.

Yes, I consider my surgery with Dr. Conway a success. :)

Re: Why does laying down in bed on your back worsen symptoms

Hi DG,

I don't know how much it would cost to see him. He accepts insurance, if your carrier will cover it. The phone consultation is free.

Best,
Karyn

Re: Why does laying down in bed on your back worsen symptoms

Yes. Dr. Feigenbaum will review your case with you over the phone, after receiving your MRI and medical records. It takes MONTHS, but well worth it.
It's better than bouncing from one specialist to another being told "the cysts wouldn't cause your symptoms, but I don't know what are".

Re: Why does laying down in bed on your back worsen symptoms

Hi DG, I think Violet's suggestion to further explore the perineural cysts (a/k/a Tarlov Cysts) as a cause of your symptoms is a sound one. Unfortunately, this is much easier said than done. I'm not sure where you're located, but the only surgeon I know of who will accept your imaging and medical hi...

Re: Misread on my MRI - my recent personal experience

Hi NYT, Thanks so much for sharing your experience. This is a rather touchy subject with me. I've had a lot of inconsistencies and discrepancies with my imaging over the past few years. For example, I had a pelvic MRI this past October which reported "Unremarkable pelvis". Apparently, the ...

Re: Petition to American Congress of OB/GYNs

Hi Janet,

You're welcome! And THANK YOU!!! I realize a lot of folks are signing via FB, but I was getting a bit concerned as there have been over 50 views since I posted, but no responses.
Hoping people are just signing without responding.

Best regards,
Karyn
