Scar Tissue

Post by Violet M »

Some people tend more towards developing scar tissue than others, which is one reason I think surgery should be used as a last resort and only for people who have severe pain with no quality of life because you may not know ahead of time whether you will be one of the unlucky patients who develops scar tissue. I have doubts about the wisdom of having surgery to remove scar tissue that was formed as a result of a previous surgery. At this point I don't know of any tried and true treatment to prevent scar tissue from forming postoperatively although some docs recommend gliding exercises after surgery or physical therapy.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
