That's interesting. Thank you. Could you please explain how someone gets to be "a Hope Advisor"? Can any chiropractor achieve that status or is there some kind of selection process? Do people apply or are they co-opted?
Is there any objective evidence to support the effectiveness of the treatments offered by Dr Durtnall and of Chiropractic in general for PN, and is he a qualified medical doctor in the same way as Dr Baranowksi?

Advisers are invited by the HOPE directors/moderators. They do not apply. Typically advisers are licensed health care practitioners who specialize in the area of pudendal neuralgia. Dr. Durtnall studied under Amy Stein and Rhonda Kotarinas, two of the expert PN physical therapists in the USA. He is not an MD but he is a licensed DC. We would not invite just any chiropractor to be an adviser. For publications on the role of PT for PN patients you can go to this link: http://www.pudendalhope.info/node/25#Physical_Therapy This is not an exhaustive list of publications.

I repeat, what is the objective evidence that any Chiropractor has improved the condition of patients diagnosed with PN/PNE ? You posted some information relating to Physiotherapists but I can't find anything relating to Chiropractors and PN/PNE.
I am copying here some information from the NHS official website regarding Chiropractors :
"Does it work?
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession and not a single treatment. Evidence about chiropractic generally refers to one or more of the treatments that chiropractors offer.
There is good evidence that manual therapy which may include spinal manipulation – as practised by chiropractors – can be an effective treatment for persistent lower back pain. Conventional treatments for persistent lower back pain include painkillers, exercise and physiotherapy.
There is some, mostly poor-quality, evidence that spinal manipulation is an effective treatment for some other musculoskeletal conditions involving the bones, joints and soft tissue. The evidence on manual therapy, including spinal manipulation, is not strong enough in these cases to form the basis of a recommendation to use the treatment.
There is no evidence that treatments offered by chiropractors are effective for other conditions.
There is also no scientific evidence to support the idea that most illness is caused by misalignment of the spine."

http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/chiropract ... ction.aspx

What then is the evidence you have that can be set against the official NHS information?

I don't know if you looked at the website, Alan. He has a team of physiotherapists. It's not just chiropractic treatments.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

You have recommended someone who is qualified as a Chiropractor. I asked what objective evidence there is that any Chiropractor can successfully treat PN/PNE. That is after all what this site is about.

You have not answered the question and have not provided any evidence.

You say that Dr Durtnall has a team of physiotherapists but I'm not sure how that is relevant to recommending someone whose qualification is to work as a Chiropractor. Are you recommending the physiotherapists?

As an organization we don't endorse or recommend anyone. We just list the information on providers and people can do what they want with it. If Dr. Durtnall trained with Amy Stein and Rhonda he obviously learned some of their techniques and they are physical therapists. In his bio he says he does pelvic floor trigger point release and manual therapy. I don't know...is that physical therapy? People can make up their own minds whether they want to go see him or his physical therapists.

People can post their experiences about him if they want to. We allowed you to post yours, Alan.

You say that you don't recommend anyone but do state : "Dr Durtnall is a HOPE Adviser, the Moderators have approved this information" You haven't explained the process by which a practitioner becomes a "HOPE adviser", which I am sure is something those reading these boards would like to know. Is there not some kind of selection process? Is any such selection process based on evidence and , if so, where can readers find the evidence?

You still haven't answered my question about objective evidence: what objective evidence is there that any chiropractor's treatment is effective for PN/PNE?

There are many prominent Physiotherapists working in the UK so could you please explain how you chose between them when appointing "HOPE advisers".
