Hey everyone. I moved back to the north, and since I've moved back I've been in pain. I have stinging in my vulvar area, and burning. The area is also red looking. The vulva hurts more and more throughout the day after I pee. One dr diagnosed me with pelvic congestion after mri. My physical therapist found muscle spasms and tightness, another dr said vulvodynia, and the vulvar specialist says pudundel neuropathy and wants me to get a nerve block. She also notices that it's red, and doesn't think it's related to the pudundel. I'm so confused . I'm wondering if this nerve can infact cause redness to the skin?

There have been other women with pudendal neuralgia (PN) who had redness in the vulvar area. I can't say for sure if PN was the cause but since the nerves control the constriction and vasodilation of the blood vessels, it seems like it would be possible.

Did physical therapy help at all?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
