CT vs. MR Guided Injections

Post by pn_person »

Anyone here have Filler do MR guided injection(s) to avoid the radiation of CT guided?

Not sure what my treatment will be yet, but if a steroid injection is indicated, I might go to CA. to have it done under MR guidance to avoid the radiation.

I believe if I have the CT guided, I can have it locally, so not sure what to do if I need one.

Could not find any good data on how much radiation you get from guilded injections, only know that it is bad and cummulative.

Had a recent CT scan, so don't really want to add to it, and don't trust unguided injections in that area.

Thanks.

You have a very valid point about the radiation. I haven't had a Filler block but wanted to mention another option is ultrasound guided blocks.
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

That is great to know as I can likely have an ultrasound guided injection locally if I need one.

Thanks for the info!
