Botox in Phoenix

Post by jaxi123 »

I heard Dr Hibner is now doing up to 500 units of Botox. He also is botoxing the adductors and piriformis. Has anyone recently had this done in Phoenix?

Has anyone recently had Botox in Phoenix? If so how many units did you get and the outcome?

I have not had botox with Dr Hibner but have now had 3 rounds with 2 different doctors in Massachusetts with no help from my never ending rectal pain. I was told
I can return for more but why bother.

I can't answer how many units of botox Dr. Hibner is currently using. However, back in 2013 he injected botox into my piriformis (ultrasound guided) and adductors. I wasn't the first patient he was doing US guided botox injections to the piriformis so he has been doing that for a while. I think I was the first patient he did botox to the adductors on so he has been doing that for a while also.

A study done on children in 2006 for spasticity used >15 U/kg of body weight or >= to 800 U total. There were 3 adverse events reported in 3 out of 108 patients.

Citation: Safety of high-dose botulinum toxin type A therapy for the treatment of pediatric spasticity. J Child Neurol. 2006 Mar;21(3):189-92.

Medscape has recommended doses for different muscles. Lower limb can use 300-400 U spread out over 5 sites. I didn't see any recommendations for pelvic floor.

There are more recommendations out there that you can look for if you Google. Only look at reliable sources though.
