Diagnosis/symptoms

Post by Crystal »

Hi

I’m new to this site and wondering if I have PN

My symptoms started 4 months ago very suddenly. I have a sore/burning/prickling sensation around my vulva labia region which is much worse sitting down. Not so much trouble at all whilst walking and standing. Ive been examined by my Doctor and he referred me to Gynaecologist who found nothing wrong and sent me away with HRT Pessaries to see if they did any good. After spending weeks researching my symptoms I came across this site and immediately related to all the classic symptoms ie burning, prickling soreness (but nothing to see) and feeling like you’re sat on a lump inside, but cant decide exactly where inside! Can anyone advise a way forward with treatment and which particular Specialist I should approach with this complaint?

Thank you for any response.

Hi Crystal,

If you have any PT's in your area who treat patients with pudendal neuralgia, you might want to get an evaluation. I was originally diagnosed by a pelvic floor PT. Do you have any idea what might have triggered your symptoms?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
