Here we can discuss difficulties with comfort in sitting and normal living - cushions, bicycle seats, car seats, work stations etc.

Have you tried the cushions your assets Cushion?
http://cushionyourassets.com/Twin-Cheek ... TWC101.htm

Their design is really spot on - If you are at your ideal wight its really quite good . Sadly my Assets were a tad big and needed a cushion that was wider in the support area under the legs - After some experimentation- I found a used Beehive cushion and the kid of copied their ideas - Hired a professional upholstery place to cover the two cushion pieces we cut from th beehive cushion -
Used with a wider base Beehive Cut in two - https://www.caremedicalsource.com/Shop/ ... -Sensitive Covered with batting and then a suede like black material .
As you can see pricy - why I jumped at the used on I found being given away .

Hope it that this lasts longer than the cushion I have been using - Which was great for a year of real sitting then quietly died .

If you have no Vulvar pain this one looks ideal- http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HS3BLP0?psc=1

This might work well http://www.intellibed.com/wp-content/th ... ckling.jpg

We Used those plastic yard bag holders - AS the BASE http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Bagger-Plast ... B0000BYCMO
Basically a heavy duty winter slip and slide type thing as the base with a non skid backing - and velcro to placate 2 ' Cheeks " where I need them on the base,
Works well on most surfaces

Hi,
I have the waffle cushion and I do use it when dining out....but the anal area still touches... the little holes don't prevent that.?
I also add a 'cut-out" cushion over it ----with the opening to back, and then kneel on the booth.
But my heels dig into my butt , which also hurts.

Does the waffle cushion alone help anyone with rectal pain? Maybe I am sitting incorrectly, but am afraid to sit directly on the area, as my pain starts on contact.

Also regarding the little gardening cushion... is that the rectangular kneeling pad one uses while gardening?
I have one but its only about an inch thick -if that....How can that elevate your painful areas? Or am I thinking of the wrong product?
Thx for any ideas!

For anyone who might be interested in getting a Togu Airgo Active Seat Cushion (like this, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Togu-Airgo-Acti ... B000FCQLZQ - which is available on various websites to include both UK and the USA amazon websites) :

I've just tried one; you fill it with air by means of a small pump and I found it to be too 'bouncy' and unstable because of the air in it - a bit like sitting on a couple of rubber hot water bottles...I have had sacro-iliac issues in the past and, although it is good not to have those joints seize up with the pressure of sitting and give them some free movement, I have to be careful...For me there was too much movement and instability to sit on the cushion for any length of time without risking muscle spasm in my sacro-iliac areas. The Togu also didn't relieve much, if any, pressure on my burning vulva (my pn-like pain is pretty central and I think that the central gap/'valley' wasn't wide enough) but I did feel that it gave me adequate pressure relief on my coccyx.

Thx Dusty for that info.
I hope you can fins a more suitable cushion for your comfort.
Since my pain in near the coccyx, it may be one to consider, but I have a feeling that I would still feel pain also.
Tho I can drive a bit now ,,I do feel pain from our "" and other variations of it... so I am guessing the Togu may do the same, and end up in a pile of cushions that I someday pray to be able to donate or discard!

What would be perfect for driving, would be cushion device that lifted our painful spots ( anus , vulva coccyx, etc) slighlty off the surface , -essentially suspended.

For example I went para-sailing last month! They explained to me that my butt would be untouched!
it was painless and so peaceful as I was braced with a vest and straps around my thighs which left my butt completely free! It was wonderful
My PT was happy, but commented that in order to be held up that way, your pelvic floor is actually engaged..but she felt the relaxation was well worth it!
Good luck

Hi Kathy

I think you're right about the Togu cushion possibly not being okay for your anal pain - If I were to compare the Togu and the Relaxobak 'butt bucket' seat coccyx pain-wise, the Relaxobak is more comfortable for me. (Although, once again, I do appreciate that something being good for my coccyx pain doesn't necessarily mean that it will be good for anal pain.)

Sounds like you could discard all of the cushions you've bought and tried that were of no help now - and sell them on ebay....At least you'd get some money for them to buy one or two more cushions to try! (Cushion hunting is a nightmare! :( )

Para-sailing - wonderful that you were able to do that! :)

Someone I know who has anal pain who just bought this chair a couple of months ago (called a Varier Ekstrem) and loves it - but it was expensive http://www.backdesigns.com/Ekstrem-P1024.aspx

Hi Dusty,
How are you?
I have not been on these boards for a long time as it is best for me not to read about pelvic pain,
but it looks like I never thanked you for your cushion suggestion. I have been online a bit since late 2015, but must'vesomehow missed your post.
I came on tonight,as Im still looking for a cushion that works better than what I use,

thanks so much for posting an idea!
Hope you are doing well
Best wishes
Kathy

Hi Kathy,
Absolutely no problem re not replying; I understand it's really easy to miss/overlook things. I too don't come on here very often anymore and I can understand why it can sometimes be best not to read about pelvic pain as it can all get too much and get you down. I'm doing a lot better doing body/mind techniques, but I still avoid sitting as much as possible. At home I rest and lie semi-recumbently on a day bed in my lounge (instead of sitting in an armchair) and when I go out anywhere and have to sit I use the seat/cushions that I already mentioned in this thread; the best I've found out of all of them - although still not perfect - is the Putnams Dr Huff cut out cushion https://putnams.co.uk/collections/press ... ff-cut-out (I believe Putnams ship to the USA).
I hope you find a suitable cushion. I also do hope your pain has lessened since 2015; I can hardly believe that I posted here that long ago!
Take care and best wishes,
Dusty

I posted two suggestions on two other threads; "make your own cushion" and "padded toilet set raiser". I've tried the coccyx cushions but they are wedges that kill my spine; bought a foam pad to cut out a U shape myself but it's too hard and too high so am waiting for the toilet raiser to arrive. At home i can sit in an armchair with two lengths of memory foam under my legs but desperately want something for the car so I can drive again.
