Re: Where do I start?

One big update because of a significant new development which brought unforeseen revelations to my condition and might lead others forward as well. So what just happened in the past 2 weeks is that I started developing these exact same problems on the opposite (right) side. But this time it was clea...

Re: Where do I start?

Almost a year later, and I'm still not completely through with this. But I've already adopted some personal protocols that do a decent job at managing this to a reasonable degree and I'd say that the whole condition must've improved by at least 50%. What I'm trying right now is, well, I've realized ...

Re: Where do I start?

Belated update - treating this entity as a PFCN-related neuromuscular syndrome seems to be bearing some fruit. I don't think I'm entirely out of it yet, but I've definitely made some improvement, via targeted exercises and better and more careful choice of where and how I sleep. Right now the condit...

Re: Where do I start?

I've figured it out! The source of the pain. I'm almost certain it's the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve (PFCN), more specifically the perineal branch that wraps around the proximal thigh towards the groin. https://dermaltractionmethod.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Screen-Shot-2017-02-11-at-6.55...

Re: Where do I start?

To illustrate how variable the symptoms are, the aforementioned pain from my last post subsided the very next day, and was replaced with a different pain on my inner thigh, roughly in the area of the semitendinosus muscle slightly below the hamstring tendon. The day after that, this pain was about 5...

Re: Where do I start?

Hello everyone, I am back with some updates. The condition unfortunately is still there, although it has definitely changed in the meantime (has it ever stayed still?). I've been doing various stretches as recommended by the PT plus some that I came up with that seemed to pull on the affected area, ...

Re: Where do I start?

Some updates: - I've read Teach Us To Sit Still by Tim Parks . Very good read, describing a similar situation to mine (though definitely not the same, and more severe), and what an arduous journey it was to "fix" for the author, leading him as far as a buddhist seminar. I wouldn't say it d...

Re: Where do I start?

To be fair, it feels as if there were two primary components to my pains - one is located on the lower ridge of my buttock (could correspond to the quadratus femoris muscle and the IFI) and it's a more "deep" pain, usually not that painful and more like muscle soreness really. This seems t...

Re: Where do I start?

Hello, another month or two, another update. The pain still persists, though it did a lot of development front and back during that time. At first the groin pain disappeared completely and I got new pains in the sacral area and the ischiorectal fossa, this made it quite taxing for me to sit at work....

Re: Where do I start?

Thank you for your replies. I have some updates to make on my current status. While I'm not cured, I think I've finally found something tangible that I can grasp regarding this condition. I've managed to locate a pelvic floor therapist in my country, and together with my own experiences thus far, we...
