Re: Sciatica pain after PN block

Hi Violet, Ten months after RFA It’s still affecting my sciatic nerve. I can hardly walk any more. I have an appointment for an orthopedic evaluation this month. I will definitely ask about the TENs unit also having a muscoskeletal ultrasound of the hip area. No amount of sticking needles or PT will...

Re: Sciatica pain after PN block

Thank you for letting me know! I do that too plus very little massage on this area. Sometimes I feel relieved; sometimes it irritates me more. How is your sitting pain? Do you feel better? I got a call from a hospital to schedule another nerve block, and I cannot make a decision about it. I'm too s...

Re: Sciatica pain after PN block

Yes I also have sciatica after nerve blocks that lasts for months. I very much though that it was actually caused by the block as that doesn't make sense. He confirmed compression in Alcocks canal as I suspected. I feel as though I am already showing sig...

Re: Pre-op decompression surgery

Hi Carnation, I have a vague memory of going of doing a minor bowel prep the night before the surgery. But it was no big deal at all. I might have just had to take a laxative. April I am having surgery tomorrow and it has been suggested so far. Hi Carnation, I have a vague memory of going of doing ...

Re: Pre-op decompression surgery

Is bowel prep usually required before surgery ? Drinking prep and being on the toilet in a hotel room for 12 hours ? I’m afraid to ask this question 😳 You have a date for surgery? I wouldn't have thought you would have to do so. Plus, patients don't usually find bowel prep an issue. No date yet for...

Re: Pre-op decompression surgery

Is your surgeon requiring you to do a bowel prep? It would make sense given that the surgery is in close proximity to the bowels. I'm sure each doctor has their own protocol No, I was just wondering what the pre-op was like for others but yes, you’re right, each surgeon has their own ☺️ Thank you

Re: Robotic or laparoscopic

I’ve had surgery so most likely I have scar tissue but like nerve entrapment I believe there’s no way to tell until you’re under the knife 😒 and 🤞 hope this fixes it 🤞
