help - new symptons

Post by Question »

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - been developing new bizarre symptons and looking for views/help. About ten days ago had a CT guided Alcock's canal injection. About four days afterwards starting getting this weird shuddering sensation down the back of my right hamstring and really bad pins and needles in both my feet - left worse than right. Bottock pain and pernineum symptons still persist thought. Two days ago I woke up and when walking barefoot in flat got this sharp pain in one my toes - very weird as doesn't hurt if I flex the toe just get the sharp pain if I run it backwards on carpet. Surely this can't be related to my pudendal nerves as they don't go anywhere near the feet nerves I think? Please offer views/advice. The shuddering down the back of right hamstring seems to have subsided but the feet symptons persist. What's happening to me? Does this mean my problem is actually emanating from elsewhere?

On another note I saw what I think is the best informed physio in the UK re pelvic pain - Dr Ruth Lovegrove. I highly recommend her - she works at Agilaflex clinic in Winchester. She seems to know a lot about pudendal nerves etc and seems very determined to get to the bottom (no pun intended) of my problems.

Question,

Many of us have foot problems, don't worry! Your piriformis could be spasming in reaction to the steroid injection and thus putting pressure on the sciatic nerve. This nerve runs down the back of the leg and into the foot, so that would explain your foot/leg pain. Once the steroid wears off these new symptoms should disappear.

In the meantime you may want to stretch and massage your piriformis muscle to stop it from cramping. Search on youtube for piriformis stretches and massages. I use a therapeautic massage ball (a slightly bigger tennis ball) to massage my piriformis by pressing it against the wall with my buttock.

Question,

In my opinion, your symptoms are not consistent with CRPS. NYT is our resident expert on this condition.
