Hello and thank you

Post by Bill W »

Hi,
I've actually viewed this site for years, without ever posting. I've probably wondered what I might contribute. I would describe PN as so unbelievably horrible that it would beat any shyness out of most anyone. :)

For whatever it's worth, I was damaged in a TURP surgery in 2006. I had a situation where I couldn't empty my bladder and diagnosing why was something of a problem. Prostate wasn't really enlarged. I started using catheters and they were great. Even though I travel extensively on business, I never minded them. I was getting a lot of urinary tract infections, so a TURP was done.

I urinate just fine now, but I'd dearly love to go back to the infections. PN changes lives in very dramatic ways.

I've had a series of nerve blocks, PT a few doctors etc.

I'm either cursed or blessed with a very high pain tolerance. Like most of you, the pain is constant and classic to the symptoms. 3-4 times a year I'll have episodes that are devastating. I don't know why they come or when they'll stop. I'm in one now.

I can't thank you all enough for helping me with things like cushions and tips. In truth, this site helped me figure out what was wrong.

Kind of a long hello, but I am grateful.

Bill

Hi Bill,

Really sorry for the circumstances that have led you here and I hope this latest "episode" is short-lived. Sounds like you have been through the endless round of treatments like so many here have.

I'm glad you've found some helpful info and just want you to know you're not alone.

Violet
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Hello Bill :)
Sorry you are suffering, echoing Violets 'short lived' hope for you. I'm sure we all relate in one way or with your post. The info from the home pages and amazing knowledge and support from people here can help enormously.
Take care,
Helen
