Need a doctore in Greeneville, TN area

Post by Quilter 2 »

Hello to everyone;
We finally took the plunge and are moving on to TN. This was suppose to happen 6 yrs. ago, but as you all know, illness can kind of change plans.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a doctor to deal with this PN stuff in the Greeneville, TN area. I was on the phone yesterday with 3 docs. One said they would have to think about taking me on as a patient. The other 2 said yes but they would send me to pain clinics to get "evalulated". I don't need to tell any of you what that is going to mean. It took 18 doctors and a year just to be heard the first time. I just don't think I'm up to that crap again. I need my pain meds, Tramadol and Valium suppositories. I don't really think I take much since I'm just entering my 7th month out of surgery. I would like ONE doctor to review my past records, talk to Dr. Conway, give me a urine test, anything except go through what I did before. From what I understand, if I try too often to find a new PC, I will be listed as a "pill seeker". Any ideas out there?
Thank-you for all and any help that may be given.

Update for myself;
Up until I started this packing, moving stuff, I felt I was doing really well. I was taking 100 mgs. of Tramadol every 8-12 hours and nothing else. For the past two months, I'm now back to 100 mgs. of Tramadol every 6 hours and 1 Valium suppository per day. Sometimes I feel like I'm slipping backwards, but then I think as soon as the signing is done, the household stuff is delivered I will be able to get some well needed rest. I don't really care if the stuff sits in the garage for a month. I'll get to it. It seems we've been living out of a suitcase for 2 months already so what's a few more. The stress of buying a house today is unbelievable. Moving 1000 miles away with all my family and friends up here doesn't help either.

For all of you working on healing from surgery, just keep plugging along. It will get better, so a very wise Mod told me, and she was right.
My very best to you all;

Hi Doreen,

Moving is stressful even without PNE so I really feel for you trying to get through this move -- and to find a new doc! I wish I knew a good one but I'm from out west so I don't know. Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. I hope things will settle down soon and that you will find a doc who will prescribe your meds and be caring besides.

Hugs,

Violet
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
