DES, I hope your body will adjust to the new medication soon. It really is hard to go through the trial and error periods on some of these medications so I feel for you right now.

Getting along with Lyrica/Pregabilin
Re: Getting along with Lyrica/Pregabilin
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Re: Getting along with Lyrica/Pregabilin
Violet, I went to see my doc last Friday. He was happy the Cymbalta is helping me with my depression. I haven't had any pain since the second day on it. I do have some side effects with it, some I'd rather not have, but if it can help me get off the Lyrica, I'll be okay with it for now.
My doc can see how much I want to try to get off the Lyrica. He's letting me taper off (I haven't started that yet, because I still have to change my Cymbalta dosage to once/day), but if I experience any pain I can't handle, he wants me to go back onto it again. I'm supposed to try 50mg twice/day for two weeks. If I can manage the pain, he wants me to continue that dosage for two additional weeks, then maybe go down to the 25mg dosage twice/day after that. He wants to see me in a month's time (or a bit sooner) to see how I'm doing.
I'm hoping to adjust my Cymbalta to 60mg once/day in the next few days. I had a rare afternoon shift today so didn't want to mess with it over the weekend in case I was away from home when the side effects kicked in.. I'm hoping I can get used to taking that once per day instead of twice, then I can move my dosage of Lyrica down..
For somebody who doesn't like to take medications, I'm up to my eyeballs in them and their side effects..

On the road of discovery to see what is causing my PGAD.

Re: Getting along with Lyrica/Pregabilin
Currently stalled at 450mg Lyrica/Pregabilin per day due to not being able to tolerate any further increase in side-effects. I haven't dared any further combinations of medication.
Strangely, I have got one benefit from this medication. I don't know if anyone else in this whole awful business has found a plus somewhere? I don't get headaches anymore. I used to get headaches a lot and was always gobbling paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin. No more.
Comfortable sittin to all
