If you are having trouble sitting, you could say something like you have a nerve condition that prevents you from sitting so you need to stand up for your job. You might need a note from your doctor saying you have a medical condition that prevents you from sitting.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE.
