Alisa, you have to stop reflecting on the past and blaming yourself. What's done is done. Anguish over it will only make you feel worse.

Push on to your appt with Dr. Hibner and see what comes next.
PNE as a result of childbirth, 2002. Treatment by the Houston team, with neurosurgery by Dr. Ansell in 2004. My left side ST and SS ligaments were found to be grown together, encasing the pudendal nerve.

I am cured. I hope you will be, too.

There are no medical answers on the forum. Your only hope is to go to a doctor. I was very happy with the Houston team, which has treated the most PNE patients (well over 400), more than any other US provider.

Alisa, I have no idea. But I think you should be dealing with a doctor, and just try to be patient until then. You really have done all you can at this point. You should try whatever helps you to relax and stay as calm as possible until you have your appt.

Do you believe that the nerve blocks caused your pelvic pain?
Tried numerous medications as well as a long period of myofascial physical therapy combined with meditation/relaxation. My pelvic floor muscles are now normal and relaxed on exam ( confirmed by many Pelvic floor PTs) yet my pain remains the same. Also have intense leg pain. Deciding on next treatment.

If you believe the nerve blocks caused your pelvic pain...why did you seek nerve blocks in the first place? Did you not have pelvic pain that made you seek diagnosis and treatment, leading to the nerve blocks? I don't mean for that to sound brusque, but just trying to gather the facts of your case.
2008: mild pelvic pain and PFD began
2009: true PN/PFD pain, two PN blocks, normal PNMLT
2010: PT and conservative management with moderate improvement in PN/PFD symptoms
2011: surgery for extensive endometriosis; arthroscopic hip surgery to repair labral tear and FAI (right hip)
2012: C-section delivery of first child
2014: arthroscopic hip surgery to repair labral tear and FAI (left hip); C-section delivery of second child
Ongoing physical therapy since 2010 for both pelvic floor and hips.

Hi Lauren my major complaiet when all this happem was severe burning clitoris and reoccuring yeast infections that would show up in the office but when sent out to be cultured was negative but i was always treated for yeast or bacterical infections.. so was sent to a vulva dermatolotogist told me it was vuvlvadyndina and it was also nerve related and nentioned the pundendal nerve i could never be examined it would cause so much pain, and burniing vaginal so intense and it would feel like something was in there. So she sent me to dr quesda and conway.. and everything took off from there And when I had sex i would get major pulsations way up inside. So if pelvic pain pain means burning clitoris and vaginal too then no the pn blocks just madde me much worse :/ I thought pelvic pain was sacrum pain burning what i have now where i cant sit or lay.

Hi Missingmylife,

Pelvic pain is any pain from the waist down, including the sacrum, hips, buttocks, thighs, rectum, genitals, muscles inside the pelvic floor, (penis, testicles, scrotum, vulva, vagina, clitoris etc.) Some people experience the pain all the way down the leg and foot as well as the pelvic floor. This is exactly what we are trying to drive here.
Many, many people do not understand what areas of the lower body come under pelvic pain. I too thought that pelvic pain was the sacrum, hips and uterus. Have you seen the video footage on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juAve2pNxws

Lots of questions being answered there by Prof. Vancaillie.
2004 PNE following vag. hysterectomy and A & P repair. 2007 TIR surgery France. severe entrapment at Alcocks canal & SS ligaments . Have my life back. 90% cured. No longer have medical appts.or physio. Some pain remains but is tolerable. 2012 Flew from Australia to the UK without pain flare. Very manageable. Almost back to normal. Now hold support group meetings at KEMH Subiaco Perth WA. Every 2nd Sat. of the month. Still pace my activities. PN doesn't dominate any more.
