PN is my Saturn Return

Post by weaselish »

Hello everyone, I thought I would write a post as part of my PN journey towards healing.
I am a 29 year old female (right in the middle of my Saturn Return - typical!)
I was diagnosed with PN at the beginning of October of 2022. I was home visiting my parents and it started to be very painful to sit down. After the train ride back, I was in pretty bad pain. I went to see my pelvic floor physical therapist (whom I had been seeing for sexual dysfunction), and she diagnosed me with PN.
She said there were two possible causes. The first is embarrassing - I had been constipated for several months, and the straining may have caused some minor nerve damage. The second is scary - that year, I had had 2 failed IUDs. Both moved from their place, and both had to be removed. It is possible that either the insertion or removal of one of the two caused trauma to my pelvic floor.
Now I am 3 months into my recovery, which has consisted of only physical therapy so far. I am sitting on a couch right now typing this, but my sitting threshold is only about 30 minutes and I need my special cushion.
I am happy to have found this forum to seek and provide support. Thank you all for being there with me!

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad the site has been helpful. It's good that you found a pelvic physical therapist, and it sounds like you are making some progress. Keep us posted.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are on the PN journey. If you can get better with PT that would be great and hopefully you won't have to have any further treatment. Our website has some suggestions of things patients have used successfully to combat constipation. They are listed on our website at the following link: https://www.pudendalhope.info/node/32

All the best,

Violet
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
