Do you know what surgical approach he will do? I hope all goes well for you!

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Thanks, it's been a hell of a journey to get to even this point.

Anterior laparoscopic surgery, so hopefully the recovery will be a bit less horrific than the TG approach.

I saw an online video on youtube and gather that even Nantes have switched to laparscopy.

Would you be able to post a link to the youtube video? I would be interested in seeing it and I expect other people would too. Thanks,

It was a video from Dr Bautrant that I found from the pudendal neuralgia association who describes it as the "main surgical approach." https://youtu.be/sq6c8y9-av8?si=aMNSPZiZ5mUYkROg.

Then there is a paper which I have seen you link to before for the review of surgical outcomes versus approach, which I think shows the direction of travel that it is heading given their findings. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cont.2023.100929

Was verbally told about Nantes so I don't have a literature source as such I'm afraid and I am getting the impression that less rather than more surgeons are doing the surgery in general but that might not be founded mind. I think some are preferring the quicker recovery time with the laparoscopic approach.

I know there are others, who still prefer trans-gluteal and cite multiple reasons: https://azccpp.com/pudendal-nerve-neuralgia/.

I think ultimately there is still going to different opinions between surgeons and until the surgery is done more often and someone undertakes some RCT's, this will still be the case. Perhaps they need to invent some better diagnostics and whether that could eventually guide the best surgical approach.

Thanks, Eraser. I will have a look at that video when I get a chance. Anyway, you gave a good synopsis of where things stand on the surgery front these days.
