Curious. How much Amitriptyline are you taking?

I ask this because I feel like it is much more effective than the Lyrica. In fact sometimes I feel like if I stopped Lyrica, I'd feel the same.

I don't take Amitriptyline anymore. I couldn't get above 12.5mg because I was SOOO drowsy all day long. So I was switched to desipramine (another Tricylcic antidepressant) and worked my way up to 50mg, but felt nothing. My heartrate was fast (around 115) and it made me constipated so I weaned off and increased my Neurnontin instead. For me Neurontin helped a lot more than the TCA's. But everyone is so different. Maybe you aren't on a high enough dose of Lyrica? I take 2400mg of Neurontin which is pretty high.

I have read of someone on the forum who took 600 mg. of Lyrica per day although I believe it was off-label as the suggested max dose on the product info is 450 mg. per day.

I wonder if I should go up on the Lyrica. I am only at 75 mg 2x a day.

With all these drugs come all these side effects though..... ugh. Thanks guys for your input. I think I'll make an appt. w/ my PCP as he is the most caring of them all so far.
