Sometimes there is a problem with blood flow (vascular constrictions) to an area as well as nerve compression or nerve damage. It sounds like your GP is not interested in actually figuring out what is going on with you although I expect if he were the one having this problem he would leave no stone unturned to figure it out. Maybe you can print out some information from this website to give to your physician and ask if he can at least refer you to some specialists who might be able to help you.

Hello, yes i think that there is problem with the blood flow/circulation to the pelvic area, so if it is vascular damage does it means nerve damage?i don't have any knowledge of these kind of stuff and also will MRI show the Cardio Vascular System? Thank You.

Yeah, I've had all kinds of testing and treatments Elindo. Far as testing...PNMLT, WDT test, high-res pelvic MRI, pudendal angiography, nerve blocks, etc. Far as treatment...nerve blocks, physio, meds, etc., but nothing's helped thus far, which is why I'm planning on surgery.

I'm also trying to figure out to what extent my problem is a vascular one, as compared to neural. Although, as Violet explained to me way back in the day (thanks again for all the help V! ) , "the nerve controls constriction of the blood vessels", so the two are interconnected and it's not always so easy to determine the main causal issue.

Far as testing the vascular component, if you haven't already, you should get a Penile Doppler Ultrasound test, and/or a Pudendal Angiogram (make sure they induce an erection through Intra-Cavernous injection while doing this imaging...same as in the Doppler).

Elindo, frequently the blood vessels and nerves travel next to each other so often, if one is compressed so is the other. Constricted or dilated blood vessels can show up with the correct imaging techniques. Pelvis Stressly knows more about these tests than I do so thanks for filling us in on those, PS.

The thinking up 'til recently is that the pudendal nerve can typically get entrapped or compressed in one of two spots...in the Alcock's Canal or at the level of the Sacrospinous & Sacrotuberous ligaments. But there's been some evidence put forth of late indicating a 3rd potential site of entrapment...at the 'dorsal nerve canal'. Patients w. entrapment/compression at the site of the dorsal nerve (which is a branch of the pudendal nerve, in case you didn't know) tend to present w. penile & clitoral symptoms specifically (sounds like you might fit the bill).

The main surgeon in the States addressing this specific problem is a Dr. Dellon out of Baltimore. There's a good, ongoing thread in the 'Case Updates' section that's been discussing him & his work. Here's a link... http://www.pudendalhope.info/forum/view ... f=17&t=448
