Perineal branh or dorsal branch
Re: Perineal branh or dorsal branch
I had a lot of perineal branch involvement but also the main branch was affected. I didn't have much rectal involvement so possibly that branch was coming off higher up than the ligament entrapment as it does in some people. So I can't say for sure what was the main cause of the urinary symptoms but if the main branch is affected at the ligamental grip of the SS/ST ligaments it can cause urinary symptoms.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Ty for answear Violet.
So you had 2 entrapment zone ? One at ligaments and second at distal perineal branch ? I understanded good or was only one just at Ss/St ligaments that gave you perineal problems also ?

Re: Perineal branh or dorsal branch
I had entrapment at the ST/SS ligament grip and Alcock's canal that affected primarily the perineal branch of the pudendal nerve. The surgeon also shaved off some of the falciform process of the ST ligament. He told me that sometimes he shaves off part of the pelvic floor muscles if they are enlarged and impinging on the nerve. The neurologist who worked with the surgeon at the time told me that symptoms can depend on which nerve fibers are affected. So it's not just one size fits all -- each person can have a bit of variation in what part of the nerve is affected and where the entrapments are -- and figuring it out is not an exact science, unfortunately. How are you doing Balenul? I've been worrying about you -- haven't heard from you in a while.
