Would an MRN show stretch damage to the pudendal nerve or would it only show entrapment ?

Also wondering if anybody could tell me where you can pay for these out of pocket that are experienced with looking at the pudendal nerve?

Hi Pubh12,
A radiologist in New York developed an MRI protocol to best identify pne--Dr. Hollis Potter. I think you can contact her office and request the latest version of protocol. You can give the protocol to the clinic doing the MRI. I got the protocol for my second MRI and I sent it to the clinic in advance, and the tech reported to me that they "had to homework" to figure out how to get all the images. And my MRI showed edema between the SS and ST ligaments on the side I had pain, and the radiologist thought that was indicative of pne. I don't know what other MRIs show, but I don't think I've heard of "stretch damage." But I do know that it is unusual to get MRI signs of pne; a lot of times it just doesn't show up on the MRI.

When I say stretch damage I mean like a partial tear or maybe even full tear of the pudendal nerve. I believe I already had compression and then completely injured myself on an ab wheel trying to fix when I buckled and then felt a tingle go right from my pelvis to gentalia. It hasn’t worked since.
Would dr Potters protocol be needed for a lesion or tear or something like that to be seen on an MRI? I don’t suppose there’s any clinic that does pudendal nerve MRN as it’s specialty?

An MRI or MRN that enhances the image of the nerves like the Hollis Potter protocol might show nerve damage/inflammation. There are places around the country that do the MRN. Just type magnetic resonance neurography into your search bar and some information will come up.
