for quite a while now, i have adjusted my sexual behavior (which triggers the pain) and have simply gotten used to it. but the thing is... even though i haven't had sex with another person in years, should it ever happen again, i don't want to have to explain my medical history before having sex for the first time, just so that they aren't freaked out by my whimpering while lying next to them afterwards. plus, it's not like the symptoms (see below) are pleasant and i find it very annoying that because of them, i can't relax like i used to... i know i'm past my sexual prime at 28 but still... this is ridiculous.
but... let me explain in depth...
the symptoms: they are linked to sexual activity. and they vary a lot. sometimes they appear directly after ejaculation, sometimes only the next day. especially when i take my time until orgasm (say an hour or so), i usually get the whole deal: stomach pain right afterwards, stomach pain while i try to fall asleep, frequent urination urges the next day and occasionally drops of urine "getting stuck" that dribble out at a later point in time.
also, for some reason, appetite and thirst seem to be linked to this. which makes me wonder whether there is more wrong with my whole abdominal area than i realize. because whenever i would get hungry or thirsty in the past, i was just that... hungry or thirsty. but now, i get increasingly intense stomach pains if i am hungry/thirsty for two hours or so.
the history: i had "mild occurrences" (back then, i didn't think they were mild...) of this ever since my teens. sometimes, after ejaculating and urinating afterwards, i would have the feeling as though i would still have to urinate. accompanied by a slight stinging. even when i was still a virgin, so no STD. it would usually subside after 15-30 minutes though, with no other issues. and since i had it maybe twice a year, i didn't pay attention to it (and you can't imagine how great it is when you have to explain your first girlfriend when the relationship is still fresh and you're 18 years old that "this just happens sometimes"...).
it became as bad as it is now about 1.5 years ago. very suddenly. i had not masturbated for about three weeks and wanted to take the opportunity to have an enormous orgasm. i must have taken 2-3 hours before ejaculating... but when i did, i felt like something was "twitching" inside of me, as if something got stuck.
now... if swearing is not allowed here, i'm sorry about the following but... it fucking pisses me off to no end that all doctors whenever i told them this, immediately said "oh that has nothing to do with your problems". a moronic knee-jerk reaction because masturbation can NEVER be harmful. believe me, i'm probably more sexual open-minded than most of them and have been a crusader for sexuality since the tender age of 7, when i explained to the boys in my class how to masturbate. i know what i felt, damn it! and i know that i have never had pains like these before that very moment (well except for the much milder, not long-lasting ones i mentioned before).
and it actually started out in my penis, not my stomach. it traveled from my penis to my stomach over the course of weeks, possibly months and has settled there for the past year or so.
road of (non-existent) diagnoses: the general practitioners i saw at some walk-in clinics in toronto (no canadian resident -> no government health insurance) suspected either an infection or an STD (despite me explaining to them that i haven't had sex with somebody in three years). the tests came back negative but they still gave me antibiotics. since those didn't help either, they sent me to a urologist, who examined my prostate, had an ultrasound scan of a large part of my abdomen done and most importantly: performed a cystoscopy.
never again will i let ANYONE do anything to my penis on a whim. because of that procedure, i felt pain in my urethra for weeks afterwards. after the first two days probably not actual pain but just the memory of the pain and my mind made it seem real but that doesn't make the experience less awful.
and the best thing was the result of it. he said he wouldn't see anything being wrong. and then that douchebag put his arm around my shoulders, smiled and said "you said the pain is linked to sexual activity... you know... you just have to figure out how much it is worth to you".
so there you go... can anybody here tell me whether any of this sounds familiar and what i could do to get a proper diagnoses and treatment? i've read about dr. aszmann here but since he treats a very specific condition and i don't even know whether i have that, i figure i should find that out first? (plus, i currently have no health insurance, so i'm hesitant about going from doctor to doctor... and i don't know which country i'll be in when i will finally have health insurance again. at the moment it seems like it will be either germany or canada...)
