I'm new to this site and trying to find my way.I'm looking for patients of Dr. Hibner who can share their experiences with me
3/09 diagnosed with vulvadynia by local GYN in El Paso
4/09 diagnosis confirmed by Dr. Fowler at Mayo in Scotsdale
4/09 pinching feeling and burning becoming intolerable- started on Tramadol 150mg
3/11 diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction by Dr. Andrew Goldstein in D.C.
Began 3 months of physical therapy in Denver-dry needling, biofeedback, lots of stretching-no relief
By now I'm using Tramadol 300mg, elavil 100mg, cymbalta 60mg, lyrica 200mg, and 10mg Valium suppositories at night
6/11 returned to El Paso and began more physical therapy, mostly intravaginal message- no relief
1/12 continued with same meds but increased cymbalta to 90mg and an occasional Valium 2mg
1/12 started 7 caudal nerve blocks in LA with Dr. John McDonald over 10 week period-no relief
1/12 diagnosed with pudendal neuralgia by Dr. McDonald
3/12 Stopped physical therapy after 12 months with no sign of improvement
4/12 Saw Dr. Mario Castellanos in Dr. Michael Hibner's office in Phoenix
4/12 still on same drugs but suppositories changed to 5mg Valium with 4mg baclofen twice a day
6/12 scheduled to have MRI and pudendal nerve block with Drs. Castellanos and Hibner in Phoenix
I am a walking zombie from the drugs and still have horrible burning, keeping me home bound most of the time now

Lindsay, so far my experiences with Dr. C have been great. My first consult was with him for at least 2 hours and he listened to everything I had to say and show him. You can follow my message path for more details but he has scheduled a pelvic MRI and nerve blocks for me and we will see what comes of it. I say stick with the Phoenix team. Oh they also refered me to a PT team here in Tucson that is familiar with pelvic floor issues.

cheers
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the encouragement. I was also impressed with Dr. Castellanos. The only problem with that office is they aren't very good at returning phone calls and it takes so long to get anything scheduled. I have my nerve block in June and can't see Loretta until September! Let me know how your nerve block goes. I hope it's very successful.
