Ketamine based cream/ointment

Post by blightcp »

Does anyone else use this, The pain clinic associated with Dr. Conway perscribes this.

Ketamine is a very unique drug, its also abused as a halucingen.I have used it in a topical oitment and it definatly shuts down the receptors.

The ointment i use has a number of drugs like nurontin and aelvil and a local anteshetic. IT works great a sutting down the skin pain receptors for a longtime.

I have spots on my scrotum that can get burning pain like a 3rd degree burn and ithappens every time it's touched, as the scrotum is in constant movement for temp regulation of the testes you cant stopthe pain. I would imagine the ladies can relate. After surgery i was using 32mg of dilauded to controll pain after the ointment it immedialy shot down to percoset 20mg a day that is a 3x drop.

This ointment is designed for the genitals and the PH is adjusted accordingly. On the actual application to the tip of the penis the few times i have neded it, there is a slight warming but nothing i would call intense.

The prices are not extreme i think a months supply of 30GM was about $75. The place i get it from takes insurance so its $25.

I can post the active ingredents with ammounts and link to compunding if anyone is interested.

I used the ketamine compound, too. It was prescribed by Dr. Q and comes from Snyder Compounding Pharmacy in FL.
I'm very happy to hear it's working well for you! I'm not having as much success with it. Probably because I need a vat of the stuff to cover me from the waist down. I apply it to my SIJ and lateral hips. It just barely takes the edge off of my pain. I don't do well with oral meds due to severe side effects, so I was very hopeful about this topical solution.
I can't say enough good things about the support from Snyder. They're outstanding! The compound is definitely worth a try for someone with localized pain.
Kind regards,
Karyn

I agree with the support thre is a very nice RN named betty that is wonderfull. These people specalise in cronic pain around pelvic health.

The exact information I use is this.

http://www.snydercenter.com/

The active ingerdents are:
Ketamine 15%
Gabapentin 2%
Clonidine 0.2%
EMLA 7% - This is a local "cane" anestheic.
Amitriptyline 2%
Ketoprofen 5%

Apply to affected area 3-4 times a day. It only takes 10-15 min to absorb to the skin before swimming or washing .

I can say yes to Perineum, in my conversations with Bettey at snyder the compounding is diffrent for diffrent body parts. I had a compoud made here in Bedford NH (USA) and she said that it was more of a knee formula.

Hi Dave,
The cream really is intended for localized areas, only. It is possible to get adverse effects from the ketamine if you use too much. Where you can use it also depends on the carrier ingredients. Meaning, the type of cream I have can't be applied to genitals or rectum (mucus membranes). My formula is a little bit different than blights:

Ketamine - 15%
Gabapentin - 6%
Clonidine - 0.2%
EMLA - 7%
Amitrypline - 2%
Baclofen - 2%
Ketoprofen - 5%

The Snyder Pharmacy is very efficient with trying to compound a formula that suits your individual needs. However, I can't stress enough that it's not intended to be used for wide spread pain.

Kind regards,
Karyn
