Hello everyone 8 years ago my gynecologist removed IUD and since than my suffering begun.
I was constantly misdiagnosed due to similarity of other illness but I yesterday my doctor said that I suffer with Pudental Nerve disorder.
Before yesterday I was treated for IC, vulvodynia and lower back pain with now relief. I will be starting physical therapy for pelvic floor pain on Monday.

Can you please let me know if physical therapy helps with PNE? I would appreciate any support and advise.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Regarding pelvic floor PT, you will find mixed results on this forum. Some have been helped by PT others made worse. Some of the results depends on the severity of the PNE and some on the knowledge of the pelvic floor PT. My first experience with pelvic floor PT left me alot worse but she was new to the field and had never worked with a patient with a hypercontracted pelvic floor let alone someone with PNE. However, after much searching I found a new pelvic floor PT who is extremely knowledgeable and excellent. The new PT I've been going to for 1.5 years and she has been helpful. It is a good place to start as it is non-invasive. The key is good communication with the PT and that they listen to you.

Physical therapy helps some people. There are different types of PT and hopefully your therapist will be knowledgeable enough to choose the type that is right for you. You should know fairly soon whether it's helping or not and if it is then it's worth pursuing.

Hello,

You can find some great PT's on this forum, depending upon where you live. If you doctor thinks you might have PNE, then you might want to check out some of the PT's that have experience with PN and not just pelvic floor dysfunction. Some of the treatments can be a bit different, for the two. Things like doing kegals, is not recommended for PN patients, but pelvic floor therapists who do not know about PN issues, might actually recommend that technique. Take a look around the forum and see if you can find a good PT in your area.

If you need help with this, someone will definitely be here to help you.

Take care,
Wendy
