Hi, I believe I am dealing with pudendal for gentiformal neuralgia. I am getting a right sleeve tattoo next week and am wondering if tattoos will flare up my symptoms. Acupuncture has helped my symptoms extremely not sure about how tattoos will respomd. Thank you for any suggestions or opinions you would like to share

Not sure what a right sleeve tatoo is since I'm not an expert on that subject. I'm assuming that it's on your right arm? Is it painful to get tattoos? I have no idea since I don't have any. If it's going to cause pain it could cause you to tense up your pelvic floor and increase your pain. Otherwise I can't see how it would affect your pelvic area.

You will tense your body having a tattoo as they can be quite painful, especially in areas of high sensitivity, such as the rear of your upper arm, or bony areas such as your elbow. I cant imagine the sitting would do any PN/PNE sufferer any good either. Good luck to you though.

Day after tattoo and still no pain. Either the endorphins from the tattooing helped, or my flare-up is ending for the time being.

I also would experience my pain leaving for short periods of time when being in an unusual and overwhelming situation. I am not diagnosing you but it is easily explained by a somatoform/mindbody syndrome. Sarno and others explain it very convincingly IMO.

For example, I was pain free for a week after each of my 2 PN surgeries (anesthesia has too short of an effect to explain it). Incision pain was there but the PN pain was gone. I think joeparz experienced the same after his surgery.

I also was pain free for 24 hours after a car almost hit me when walking on a sidewalk.
