Hi I'm David
aged 35, play rugby and run on a regular basis. I work in an office in London, uk and spend far too long sitting down every day.
firstly can i say thanks for this site, it has really helped me understand what i think is wrong with me,
you can only be empowered by having more kowledge !
my story
In the last couple of months i have been getting increasing pain in the right side of my perineum
especially when sat down. The pain wears off once i start walking after 5-10 minutes. It is also
not there when lying down. Periodically i suffer from another sympton of having a sharp shock from the
perineum through my anus up into my body which literally brings me to a standstill, this can happen 3-6 times a day at any time. (it's a nightmare when it happens crossing a road in London i will get run over one day !!!)
like a typical man i am yet to visit a doctor in the vain hope that it goes away and from reading alot
of posts on this forum it seems unlikely the Doctor will have a clue about the problem anyway. Can anyone recommend a specialist in London or East Anglia ?
that's it for now, thanks again everyone.

Re: New Boy
Hi David,
There are two teams in the UK who specialise in PN, one of which is in London. Dr Baronowski is the name of the person you want to see. His contact details are:
National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery
Queen Square, London WC1N 3BG
Phone: 020 7837 3611
I wouldn't ignore these symptoms, if it is PN then the fact it has been only 2 months makes for a better prognosis so i wouldn't delay in getting an appointment.
