Re: To tell or not to tell?

Thanks everybody for your replies. I prefer the term pelvic pain. That's a good idea. I didn't really want to say vagina at the dinner table! I did actually injure my lower back about 15 years ago, and it was nothing compared to what I am dealing with now. Even though the sacral pain prevented me fr...

Re: Biofeedback - any advice or experience?

Thanks for your responses. JeanieC - the PT is spoke with said that she places sticky pads on either side of the perineum. She mentioned the probe, but I think she said that it's no longer being made - but I might be remembering that wrong. NYT & Helenlegs- great articles - thanks. After having ...

Biofeedback - any advice or experience?

I am considering biofeedback with a PT. My concern is the sticky pads and hair in the area. What do you do about that?! I don't need any more pain! Anyone have any advice or experience with this? Thanks!

Re: anyone had worse pain after injections?

I was 10x worse after the CT-guided nerve block injections I had done at a leading university hospital. The increased pain lasted about 6-8 months, maybe longer. I'm now back to how I was before the shots. Still in pain, but not as bad as I was after the nerve blocks. The gyno who referred me for th...

Re: Are there Any home exercises

There are two good books that I have read that give you some things to try at home. Both books were available at my local library. Amy Stein - Healing Pelvic Pain David Wise - Headache in the Pelvis Hope you find something helpful. I think these books are well worth checking out, especially if your ...

To tell or not to tell?

Hi everyone, My husband has invited some friends for a BBQ in a few weeks time. This will be the first time I have socialized with anyone, other than immediate family, in three years. I can't sit at all, and standing is limited. I use a zero-gravity recliner a lot (like right now). I can already hea...

Re: Reclining Wheelchair

Hi Redriver - I have had to resort to a reclining wheelchair as well. As much as it sucks, at least I have the option of going places that I couldn't go before. My wheelchair tilts and reclines. Tilting means that the seat actually tilts, rather than staying horizontal. The tilt feature is powered. ...

Re: Diagnosis / SO happy to have found this forum!

Welcome to the forum, Davyboy. Sounds like your vigorous exercise routine may have contributed to your painful problems. There are quite a few weightlifters and exercise buffs posting here, including me. In my case, probably the worst exercise was using the inverted leg press at the gym. I just rece...

Re: has anyone been cured by pt?

From the studies I've read, I get the impression that the younger a person is, the better their chances of having a totally pain-free result. So your young age is kind of a good thing! :) There are some books about PT for pelvic pain, and the authors claim to cure/help many people: Amy Stein has a c...

Re: Dr. Attaman

I phoned Dr. Attaman's office and got voicemail only. Left a message a few weeks ago with my name and number; no reply. So I sent an email one week ago. Still no reply. His website does not mention pelvic pain at all. I don't know why he wants to be listed here, if he doesn't have the courtesy to re...
