Cipro and Other Medications That Could Worsen Pudendal Neuralgia
Not to be an alarmist, but I was surprised to recently read about someone who had their pain return after taking Cipro, a commonly prescribed antibiotic. I checked it out, and it turned out that apparently there are several drugs where the risks and benefits have to be considered before taking them ...

Treatment in Italy
An episode of the new TV show Diagnosis had an episode where, after publicizing a woman's rate and undiagnosed medical symptoms in the New York Times, a company in Italy offered expensive genetic testing. When the woman expressed concerns about the cost, she was told that Italian citizens "pay a...

Pulsed RF Ablation Stories? Or PRP Stories?
.Has anyone tried pudendal nerv0⁰radiofrequency ablation, aka RF ablation, PRF, and CRF? Or, have you had PRP (platlet-Rich Plasma) treatment? I've found a doctor in Honolulu that's contracted with Kaiser, who offers it. He also does PRP, which I know is controversial. I was an Electrical Engineer w...

Cryoablation by a Kaiser Doctor in San Jose
I just learned that Interventional Radiologist Dr. Eric King offers pudendal nerve cryoablation. From what I've read, it lasts fron 6 weeks to 6 months and can be repeated. The idea for any kind of pudendal neuralgia, including radiofrequency ablation, aks RF ablation, PRF and CRF, is to disrupt the...

Innovative Therapy Canada
I just got a reply to an email sent asking for surgeon recommendations. They reply was that surgery doesn't work, but that what they ate doing does work. I've learned that when you're a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. I get that. People have their specialties. It sounds like the head PT is ...

Re: Pudendal nerve block scheduled for the first time
It's actually an intriguing symptom. Stress makes my pain worse. So does constipation. If relaxing, as in sleeping, decreases pain, and so does not feeling stresses, it seems to me like that should be a huge clue as to what's going on. Obviously, when awake, your pelvic floor is tightened. Not sure ...

How much did your pudendal nerve decompression surgery cost?
I'm having difficulty getting doctors to quote what the out of pocket cost would be for decompression surgery. Not even a ballpark quote. Dr. Stanley Antolak has been really helpful, but he just retired and moved. He recommended Dr. Conway. But there's a YouTube interview of him saying that his succ...

Re: Pudendal nerve block scheduled for the first time
I had to diagnose myself also, thanks to this forum! When I asked my former Urologist (I moved) if it could be my pudendal nerve, he just told me I was "in the right area." All he offered was orchiectomy, which didn't help at all. Inability to sleep would exclude one from fulfilling the Na...

ICD and CPT Insurance Billing Codes
I finally found some billing codes, on orpha.net, that are what insurance companies require to determine benefit coverage. Not good at deciphering what's what, but the billing person for the doctor would. If your trying to get preauthorization for a surgery or procedure these are a must have. Unless...

Yoga Video Session for Pudendal Neuralgia
I've not tried this yet, but there are some remarkable comments from people who were helped by doing these simple exercises.
