Just want you all to know how spreading the word is going.
I have listened to your advice and when I visit docs I wash my self up but wear comfortable clothing and only a little powder, clear lip gloss and I curl my lashes.
My hair is pulled a little out of my face with a nice barrette, but is not styled more than that.
I wear comfortable nice shoes.
I carry my pillow and noodle seat and walk like I'm 100 years old (that's how old my body is most of the time)
I ask (Have you ever heard of Pudendal Neuralgia?)
I listen to them and ask (Do you know what neuralgia is?)
I listen to them again.
They read over (or pretend to read over) the short version of the Letter to Medical Professionals.
They then ask, what happened to you?
I medically describe my surgery in 3 - 4 sentences.
They say (How did that happen to you?)
I medically describe 3 ways it can happen and share that you can just be born with it.
I leave them with a copy of the medical reports that I asked them to (copy for my file) so I have a moment to discuss it with them.
I ask (when did you graduate?) I share diagnosis of this condition in new so they will probably see it more often now that they know what it is and what people with PN and PNE will be complaining of.
Sometimes I (pretend to have forgotten to have them copy the letter or the medical reports if they seem in a hurry so I can talk about it after my exam when they are a little more relaxed).
Good luck as you spread the word and I will let the MODs know what packet I generate. Money is an issue so I'm not sure how far I can get since I'm out of work and am unable to drive.
It is a slow process, but I'm getting there.
