Deciding on PT in Boston MA

Post by tig5 »

I just came from my 3rd post-op visit with Dr. Conway. He suggested going to one of three different PT's. One is Rachel Perlis in Newton, Marathon Sports also in Newton, or Holly Herman in Cambridge. Has any one heard of any of these places and/or have any suggestions on which may be better to go with?

Thank you all. I value your input!

Hi Annmarie!
So, how did your appointment go? What made Dr. Conway suggest PT for you?
I'm not familiar with any of these PT's, but I have heard the waiting list for Marathon is very, very long.
Looking forward to our appointment on the 18th!
Much love,
Karyn

Haven't heard of the other two but I've heard Holly Herman is good.
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Can anyone affirm a long wait at Marathon? I'm in eastern MA and I thought they might be my best bet for experience with endurance athletes.

Hi TriMav,
One way to confirm the wait would be to give them a call. It was a couple of years ago that I tried to get in with them. Maybe things have slowed down since then.
Best wishes,
Karyn

Thanks. I called last week to set up and was informed it would be about a three-month wait. Reportedly only a subset treat male patients.

Wow, sorry about the wait, Tri. That's nuts!
