Hi everybody!
I have been having many PN/PNE symptoms for about a year and a half, but, after reading some of the posts here, my situation is pretty mild compared to some of you. I don't know how you carry on...
Anyway, after reading about PN/PNE, I think I have been having trouble with it for some time, including impotence, loss of sensation, anal pain, itching, burning feet, and scrotal/perenial pain. Only in the last year and a half has it become debilitating, to the extent that I have stopped exercising, which I really regret.
I am pretty sure I have a PN/PNE issue, as I have been an avid cyclist most of my life, and lift weights also, I think it has finally caught up to me!
Does anyone have any experience with a doctor in the Chicago area? I'm hoping that there is at least one doctor who knows what PN/PNE is, or better yet, one that can figure out if I DO have it, and how to treat it.
Thank you, and keep on keepin' on!

It's really hard when you get to the point where you have to quit exercising. I remember reaching that point and it was so difficult to accept.
You might want to check out some of the PT's in the area. Since your case is what you consider mild at this point, hopefully, a conservative approach might work for you. You can go to the homepage and click on "list of PT's" on the left-hand menu. Also, the PT's might be able to direct you to the best doc in the area.
I don't know of any PNE surgeons in Chicagoland but it seems like there should be some who are experienced at nerve blocks.
Take care,
Violet

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
