burning with urination / no UTI / incontinence

estrogen was the reason I had burning with urination. I hit menopause at age 28 so my OB never helped me until my PT told me that my vagina was red and swollen at the urethra. OB gave me premarin (estrogen cream) and after 3 weeks of using it daily I have no burning or redness. Also, if you put it on the opening of your vagina and especially the skin between your vagina and anus it really helps with burning since estrogen is what make vagina skin thick, stretchy and healthy.

Please look into it. Estrogen is a huge deal and OBs are not checking levels because it is thought to only be a problem for OLD people and PN people just have more sensitivity than most in the vaginal region.

I highly recommend talking to your OB or urologist about it.

Estrogen has also helped some with incontinence because their urithra was so thin and red that it couldn't hold the pee drips.

Please talk about these things if you have theses issues and try the estrogen cream if you are comfortable with it.

I have no burning with urination at all and it also fixed my burning with oral because the heat from my man's mouth was too much for me so it has also helped my sex life.

Estrogen is needed in the vagina for your health. Please look into it.

Before I got pregnant, and after stopping the pill, my estrogen dropped and the only thing that helped was Estrace cream (estradiol--- a bioidentical hormone unlike Premarin which is made from the urine of pregnant horses). Right after I had Athena and was nursing, estrogen was also very low and my urethra burned and swelled. No UTI. Putting Estrace on the urethra at that time period helped. Low estrogen can also contribute to symptoms of overactive bladder.

I agree with Kat. You can never be to young to get hormone levels checked periodically.

As for the oral sex thing--- Kat, more power to ya. I'm in no mood to go there after all I've been through!!! It's gonna take a LOOONG time to get that drive back!
